What is CBD?

More

CBD stands for Cannabidiol. Discovered in the 1940’s, it is one of the over 100 identified compounds that are found inside of the Cannabis family of plants.

While all of our products are based on CBD, we go one step further at Five. We believe the entire hemp plant can be beneficial and go through extra steps to make sure our products are full of minor cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and all the other compounds that make hemp special.

What does that do for you? The benefits that you receive will go far beyond that of a traditional CBD product. You can truly feel the difference within an hour of consuming.

Will Five CBD make me “high”?

More

These products will not create the effects of marijuana, but you will definitely feel a difference mentally. For this reason, we recommend starting off slow and taking one serving size each. Our extra strength tinctures and gummies are recommended for those 18 years or older due to noticeable amounts of THC in them.

Are Five Products legal in my state?

More

All of Five’s products are federally legal per the 2018 Farm Bill. We ship to all 50 states. Hemp Laws are continually becoming stronger and if you have any questions, do not be afraid to reach out!

Will I fail a drug test if I use Five CBD products?

More

Long term use of Five CBD products will result in a failed THC drug test. Although these products are federally legal per the 2018 Farm Bill, our full spectrum extract contains detectable amounts of THC.

What do you mean by “Fully Powered Full Spectrum”?

More

We believe that most Full Spectrum CBD companies are giving “Full Spectrum” a bad name. These products often have minimal amounts of minor cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. The end result is closer to CBD isolate than Full Spectrum.

For Full Spectrum, we believe the most important number is the ratio between CBD and these other hemp compounds. Our goal is to create products with a 5 to 1 ratio. This means for every 5mg of CBD, you are also getting 1mg of these powerful minor compounds that are also found in hemp. Most companies have 25 to 1 ratio if not more! We are redefining what it means to be Full Spectrum.

What is a Minor Cannabinoid?

More

A Minor Cannabinoid is any other cannabinoid besides CBD found in hemp. Since CBD is by far the most prevalent cannabinoid found in hemp, the other cannabinoids are referred to as the minor cannabinoids. These minor cannabinoids include THC, CBG, CBC, CBN, and over 100 others. Each cannabinoid has its own unique effect on the body!

What are Terpenes?

More

Many people know terpenes as the compound that give hemp and marijuana plants their unique aromas. Yet, many people do not know that these terpenes do so much more than just making hemp smell good. Recent research shows that these terpenes work together with cannabinoids to create a variety of effects in the body.

Terpenes are not only found in hemp and marijuana. Some terpenes such as limonene are also found in citrus. Limonene has been shown to be helpful in aiding gastrointestinal issues. Terpenes like linalool and myrcene are great at helping relax and fight stress.

When looking for a CBD product, make sure to look at the Certificate of Analysis to ensure it is filled with terpenes!

What are Flavonoids?

More

Flavonoids provide a variety of health benefits through cell signaling pathways and antioxidant effects. Flavonoids are compounds in plants that give plants their pigmentation (color), filter out UV rays, attract pollinators, and prevent plant diseases. While beneficial to the plant, they also provide key health benefits when consumed.

What kind of testing is done on Five CBD products?

More

Each batch of Five CBD is third-party lab tested and guaranteed to be free of contaminants like heavy metals, bacteria, microbial life, mycotoxins and pesticides. You can read fiveTM's COA's

Are Hemp Oil and CBD oil the same thing?

More

The main difference between CBD oil and hemp oil is that hemp oil does not contain significant amounts of CBD. While both are extracted from the hemp plant, CBD oil comes from the flowers and leaves whereas hemp oil comes from the seeds. CBD and other cannabinoids concentrate in the flowers and leaves, which is why we use these parts to create Five hemp products.

Hemp oil is also called “hemp seed oil” because it is made from the seeds of the hemp plant. Hemp seed oil has a multitude of very healthful uses as it can be used as a protein supplement for food, as varnish for wood and is often used in hair and skin products.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

More

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a system that is in the body of mammals, like us. Made up of receptors, enzymes and endogenous cannabinoids (the cannabinoids made by your body), this system has receptors located in the brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems.

There are two main types of receptors in the ECS, CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are primarily located in the central nervous system and brains of mammals, and CB2 are generally found in the peripheral nervous system and immune cells.
